Submissions are now open for the 10th edition of the USA Beer Ratings, inviting U.S. breweries, international producers, beer brands, and importers to enter beers created for the competitive American retail market.
For a decade, the USA Beer Ratings has recognized beers that combine excellent quality with strong commercial potential. Every entry is evaluated on quality, value, and packaging—three essential factors that influence retail buying decisions and consumer purchases.
The 2027 competition marks an important milestone: the 10th edition of the USA Beer Ratings.
Over the past decade, the competition has helped breweries and beer brands understand how their products may perform in the United States. Its trade-focused judging process identifies beers that deliver on taste, are appropriately priced, and have the packaging and positioning required to succeed in a crowded retail environment.
Entries are evaluated by experienced beer buyers, retailers, importers, distributors, and other senior professionals from the U.S. beverage trade.
Judges consider the same practical and commercial questions they face when selecting beers for their portfolios:
- Is the beer well made and true to its intended style?
- Does it offer a satisfying drinking experience?
- Does it provide good value at its retail price?
- Will the packaging attract attention on the shelf?
- Is the product clearly positioned for its target consumer?
- Does it have the potential to generate interest and repeat sales?
This approach provides entrants with a commercially relevant evaluation from professionals who understand how beer is selected, positioned and sold in the United States.

The USA Beer Ratings look beyond taste alone. Each entry is assessed across three important areas:
- Quality: The beer’s appearance, aroma, flavour, mouthfeel, balance, style accuracy and finish.
- Value: Whether the drinking experience and overall quality justify its retail price.
- Packaging: The can or bottle, label, format, design, functionality, shelf impact and brand communication.
To perform strongly, a beer must taste good, offer suitable value, and present a convincing proposition to both buyers and consumers.
Every beer entered in the 2027 USA Beer Ratings receives detailed, comprehensive feedback from trade buyers.
Entrants can use this feedback to improve the product, reconsider pricing, refine packaging, and strengthen their positioning in the U.S. market. It offers valuable guidance for breweries already selling in the country as well as international producers preparing to enter it.
Winning breweries and beer brands can use their medals across cans, bottles, websites, social media, sales presentations, and distributor outreach. This independent recognition can help establish credibility and give buyers and consumers greater confidence in the product.
The USA Beer Ratings is open to:
- U.S. breweries and beer brands
- International breweries targeting the American market
- Importers and distributors
- Independent and emerging beer producers
- Private-label and control-label suppliers
- Contract-brewed beer brands
- Established breweries introducing new products
- Alcohol-free and low-alcohol beer brands
Whether you are launching a new beer, seeking distribution, or strengthening an established brand, the competition provides meaningful validation from the U.S. trade.
Celebrate the 10th edition of the USA Beer Ratings by putting your beers in front of leading U.S. retail buyers.
2027 submissions are now open. Enter early to secure the lowest available pricing and receive a detailed evaluation covering quality, value, and packaging.
